Lol…that’s a funny title, I know. But we literally had to make sure everything on the tree was unbreakable this year. My little one is almost two years old and has turned out to be a very curious toddler. The option of not decorating a Christmas tree for one Christmas is simply not welcome in my household. So, we decided to skip all the expensive glass and bone china ornaments and decorated our Christmas tree with only unbreakable ornaments this year. Here’s our Christmas tree decoration for this year.

Adding this picture after Santa stopped with gifts 🙂
The new thing about this year’s Christmas tree decoration is that it was done entirely by my older two.
I am finding a very interested buddy in my 11 year old daughter. She seems to be taking after me in a lot of things.

One of my favorites!
While my son helped with a lot of plastic ornaments, it was my daughter who decided upon the placements.

The famous Harrods Bear Ornament from Harrods in London
She also decided upon the placement of things in our Christmas village mantle decor. I only got to put the tree topper.
I am not complaining exactly. I love to decorate (as if you did not know that by now!) but once in a while, it is nice to have help. Instead of doing it all yourself, it felt great to have others make me sit down and take over the proceedings. And those others being your own kids!

Felt ‘gift’ ornaments
So, I ended up retrieving all the boxes of decorations, unwrapping each ornament and laying it out for the kids to peruse.
It was nice to not feel tired as a log at the end of the decorating day 🙂

My first set of Christmas tree ornaments sent across by a friend from the UK
Well, halfway down the decorating process, it occurred to me that we could use a few china ornaments up on the tree. There would be safe and out of reach of my toddler. So we added a very few that are my kids’ favorite ones.

These Hallmark ornaments stand for my 3 kids – the two sisters Elsa and Anna and Olaf the Snowman who loves hugs 🙂
The only ‘breakable’ stuff we added was 5 Hallmark ornaments. Three ‘Frozen’ ornaments seen above and the two ‘Baby’s First Christmas’ ornaments belonging to my youngest two.
Until Santa leaves some gifts, I fill up the base with my decorative boxes in which I store my decorations.
I also bring out stuffed toys. Especially Olaf, the Snowman and Raggedy Ann and Andy which my kids received from Santa one Christmas 🙂

The Christmas tree decoration is incomplete without the mantle decor and the stockings. Here’s the view after the kids hung their personalized Christmas stockings on Christmas eve 🙂
Waoh Great Job Lata. Merry Christmas to you and your kids !
Thanks and wish you the same Monika 🙂
So love your Christmas tree
Thank you Manisha 🙂
