They also make the most sumptuous breakfast (or dinner) and have long grown from being only a typically Punjabi breakfast to one of India’s favorite breakfasts. And the best part is yet to come. Unlike most other meals, you are never in danger of being repetitive when it comes to making parathas. By trying out different paratha stuffing ideas, you can make countless versions of them. Paratha Stuffing Ideas
We have listed a great variety of paratha stuffings. Some need to be prepared as a filling, while others require the ingredients to be directly kneaded into the flour. Some are traditional recipes from different states of India while others are modern recipes inspired by world cuisines. Savoury Paratha Recipes
1. Aloo Paratha
The first thing that comes to mind when you say the word stuffed paratha is, of course, aloo ka paratha. Boil and mash potatoes, add salt, chopped corriander, chopped onions and chilly to taste.
2. Gobhi Paratha
The second most popular paratha is Gobhi. Grate cauliflower and add grated ginger, chopped corriander, salt and chilli (red chilli powder or finely chopped green chillies).
3. Paneer Paratha
Grate paneer, add salt, chilli powder and chopped corriander to it.
4. Paneer Bhurji Paratha
Prepare paneer bhurji using fresh paneer and use it to stuff your paratha.
5. Mooli Paratha
Grate radish, add chopped corriander, salt chilli powder and grated ginger to prepare the paratha stuffing.
6. Palak Paratha (chopped)
Chop spinach leaves, add seasoning, jeera powder and ajwain and mix directly in the wheat flour when kneading the dough.
7. Palak Paratha (Puree)
Boil and puree spinach leaves and use it to knead the wheat flour along with seasonings.
8. Palak Paratha (Cooked)
Saute finely chopped onions and add chopped spinach leaves along with seasonings. Let cool and use as stuffing for the paratha.
9. Methi Paratha
Wash and chop fenugreek leaves. Add, along with salt and other seasonings, to the flour when kneading the dough.
10. Pyaaj ka Paratha
Add salt and chilli powder to finely chopped onions and use it to stuff parathas.
11. Hare Pyaaj ka Paratha
Add chopped spring onions along with seasonings to wheat flour and knead together to make the dough for parathas.
12. Besan-Pyaaj ka Paratha
Add finely chopped onions, ajwain, salt, chilli powder and a good amount of besan to the wheat flour and knead together.
13. Dal Paratha
A great way to use leftover dal from the night before. Knead the dough using dal and add corriander and ajwain to it.
14. Beetroot-Carrot Paratha
Grate beetroot and carrot. Mix salt, corriander, chilli powder and jeera powder to it to make stuffing for the parathas.
15. Mix Vegetable Parathas
Boil mixed vegetables like potatoes, carrots, peas etc. Saute finely chopped onions in oil, add boiled vegetables, corriander, spices and salt and cook till done. Use this mixture as a stuffing.
16. Moong ka Paratha
Commonly made in Sindhi households, this paratha is made using boiled whole mung beans. Boil the whole mung beans in a little water so that the lentils are cooked completely but not mashed. Each grain should be separate. Add salt and chilli powder to it and use it as a stuffing.
17. Coconut Paratha
Popular in Konkan area of Maharashtra, this uses a mixture of grated coconut, sambar powder for seasoning and salt to make the stuffing.
18. Lobia Paratha
Boil lobia in less water so that they are cooked but not mushy. Season with spices and chopped corriander and stuff parathas with the mixture. Alternatively, like rajma paratha, you can also use leftover lobia curry to make the stuffing.
19. Cheese and Capsicum Paratha
Finely chop capsicum and add grated processed cheese to it. Add pepper or oregano depending upon your taste and use it as a stuffing.
20. Cabbage and Dal Paratha
The cabbage and moong dal sabzi is popular in Maharashtra. Prepare the sabzi and use it as a stuffing for parathas.
21. Pumpkin Paratha
Steam, cook or boil pumpkin, mash it ad add to wheat flour along with seasonings. Knead into a dough and make parathas.
22. Corn and Spinach Paratha
Prepare a dry corn and spinach sabzi using Indian or other (black pepper, oregano or other herbs) seasoning and use it to stuff your paratha.
23. Corn Capsicum Paratha
Prepare a corn capsicum sabzi using Indian or Chinese style seasonings (add Soy or Schezwan sauce) and use it to stuff your paratha.
24. Papad Paratha

25. Peas Paratha
Mix boiled peas with chaat masala and mash lightly to make stuffed matar parathas. Alternatively cook peas with the seasonings and mash lightly to make the stuffing.
26. Gajar-Matar Paratha
Boil and chop carrots. Saute finely chopped onions, add chopped carrots and boiled peas to it. Add seasonings and cook. Cool and use it to stuff parathas.
27. Mexican Paratha
Use the flavours of sweet corn, cheese and salsa to make these Mexican parathas.
28. Sattu Paratha

30. Oats Paratha
Oats are being used in almost everything these days. This healthy ingredient can be added to your diet by incorporating them in your paratha stuffing. Mix some plain oats with spices and seasonings or use masala oats and sprinkle a little water over them to create a soft stuffing to use.
31. Dhaniya Paratha
That’s right! Only corriander can be used to create a delicious stuffing for parathas. Mix chopped green corriander leaves with salt and chilli powder and stuff parathas with it.
32. Cheese Parathas
Mix together 3 or 4 different types of grated cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, paneer, processed cheese etc.), add seasoning and chopped corriander and use the prepared mixture to stuff parathas.
33. Bathua Paratha
Cook bathua greens with jeera, salt and chilli powder till the water evaporates and use this preparation as the stuffing for your parathas.
34. Broccoli Cheese Paratha
Just like cauliflower, it’s green cousin broccoli can be used to make tasty parathas for breakfast. Mix grated broccoli with cheese or paneer, season and use as stuffing.
35. Rajma Paratha
A great way to use leftover rajma is to use them as paratha stuffing. Cook the rajma curry till all the water evaporates. Mash the rajma and you have your stuffing.

37. Shalgam/Turnip Paratha
Shalgam parathas can be made in two ways. Like cucumber and lauki parathas above, you can add grated turnips to the flour when kneading. Or you can make a cooked stuffing by sauteing chopped onions and adding grated turnips and spices to it. Cool the cooked mixture and use as stuffing.
38. Chana Dal Paratha
Just like moong dal parathas, you can make chana dal parathas by cooking chana dal in very little water so that it is cooked but not mushy. Each lentil should be cooked separately but firmly hold it’s shape. Add seasonings to the cooked dal and use as stuffing.
39. Sprouts Paratha
Use lightly cooked sprouts seasoned with salt, chilli powder and chopped fresh corriander to stuff parathas.
40. Pudina Paratha
Add pudina or mint leaves, fresh or dried, to wheat flour along with salt, jeera powder and ajwain and knead to make dough for parathas.
41. Lauki Paratha
Exactly like cucumber parathas, knead the wheat flour with grated lauki and seasonings.
42. Cucumber Parathas
Add grated cucumber to a mixture of wheat and rice flours and season with spices, ginger garlic paste, sesame seeds and chopped corriander to make the paratha dough. Divide into small balls and roll out parathas.
