Leopard print lends itself beautifully to Indian wear, especially in colors other than brown. This Coral and Black Ombre Kurti has been in my collection ever since I had my 3rd baby and continues to remain a favourite.
After my third delivery, I needed some pretty, but loose clothes. That’s when I bought this georgette Kurti from Styletag. It was long flowing, covered my post partum belly well, and was the right amount of edgy. Yes, after a baby you are in dire need of clothes that make you feel sexy! And the long front zipper made breastfeeding easy too. All in all, it was the perfect choice for my predicament – the need to look stylish without compromising on comfort.
A year later, I had to get the size altered to suit my somewhat shaped-up figure but the fabric and the look of this Kurti continues to get me compliments even today. Putting together a Kurti outfit is a great idea anytime and the safest bet when you are unsure of the occasion/venue/crowd wherever you are headed. The georgette fabric is sheer and I use a black CouCou slip underneath. They come with adjustable straps and are very comfortable. I pair it with black leggings and some lovely, but minimalist jewelry and a Tote bag from Lavie.
I love large earrings in one solid colour, especially when they feature stones, precious or not. These Victorian style earrings are not a perfect Coral – in fact, they are orange – but go very well with this Kurti. The long, cutout ring from Mast and Harbour has also become a staple. I carry it in my big Lavie bag along with other makeup and jewelry essentials, to use anytime I need to change my look from work to party!
